Amsterdam…

Amsterdam is a place of enchantment, the type of city one falls in love at first site!

Such discovery starts with the mistaken idea that it’s such a big city, by taking into account the 15 minutes one spends on the aeroplane, after landing at its local and huge airport - Schiphol. The real truth is to be found out later on…

Then, heading to the city centre, by train, reaching its Central Station, an amazing view from the outside of the buildin
g calls for the attention of the new comer: It is the 3-store parking lot… for bicycles. Can you believe that? And, at this very little moment, one can start understanding that this is definitely, a city to be seen and felt on two wheels…

A first contact with locals, might lead to diverse feelings – a mixture of individualism usually coming from the constant rush, characteristic of ‘big cities’, together with a gesture of sympathy: coming from hands offering to help with the bags - a slightly sweet welcome attempt.

The canals… ah, the canals… what a romantic and melancholic view of Amsterdam’s soul one might have from the streets along the canals… Its attached buildings, made of brown bricks, reflecting on the waters, mix with the excitement of tourists - amazed by the beautiful and real portrait they can see – completed by the proud faces of locals for being born here. An even more special view of the city can be seen from riding a boat throughout the canal… but this, you can find out yourself…

Two tips to enjoy the most of this place? The flower market and its variety of colourful tulips and other flowers, and a small souvenir – a pair of wooden clogs. Unforgettable as it is, finish the Wednesday paying a visit to a cosy Café near Leidseplein, where apart from an ultra-professional presentation of jazz, for free, the new comer will be certainly delighted with the satisfaction and enthusiasm the players produce lively songs that reach the hearts of the audience…

This is Amsterdam… hope you enjoy it as much as we do…
